What you will immediately notice about L’Ampolla is the relaxed pace of life on the streets. Nobody is in a hurry in the village, something which has long appealed to European holiday makers. Take a leisurely stroll along the coastal boardwalk and enjoy spectacular views of the Ebro Delta with its dramatic sand banks and bay, then into the harbour where little fishing boats share the marina with the yachts and motor boats, and then perhaps stop off for a coffee or lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants. In keeping with the character of this quaint village, they are all family run and have a long tradition of serving great sea-food. Which is why L’Ampolla is famed through-out Catalunya for the quality of its cuisine.

Afternoon and it might be time for a dip in your own pool or in the enormous municipal swimming pool with the mountains as back-drop, a game of tennis perhaps or a visit to the gypsy market that takes place every Wednesday. For the kids there is something of special interest, a summer camp every day during July and August from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It can be booked daily and costs just five euros. There is the beach-side night-club for those who are in the mood to dance and of course there are the Summer Festivals and special events that just tend to happen. L’Hort De Salomó is in the very heart of the village and is within easy walking distance to all the local facilities, shops, cafes, the marina and beaches.
