Finca El Domo is a fabulous farm of seven hectares located in Camarles with a house designed by the famous Catalan architect, Carles Ferrater who designed ‘Las Tres Manzanas’ in the Olympic Village in BCN as well as the Congressional Palace of Catalunya. The design is all about light and space so the 98m2 house is flooded with light from multiple rectangular windows that allow a subtle luminosity to filter inside that depends on the season and even the time of day. You enter the house via a bespoke door composed of thin rectangular panels that leads onto an open plan space with high ceiling. Here you have the kitchen, living and dining area all fused into one. There is a bathroom and a large bedroom that leads off this central living area. Ascending the wall are traditional wood steps that lead to an altillo/bedroom of 25m2. The house is completely insulated with 40cm thick walls and is very energy efficient. A later addition by the current owner is a 32m2 patio area with wooden pergola, a second teak patio of 18m2 and an almacen of 35m2 that houses a modern solar system, generator and solar panels. The generator activates automatically as there is a well on the farm. The ‘additional’ jewel of the crown is the ‘Domo’, a 50m2 perfect semi-circular structure made from wood, a tarpaulin roof with polystyrene windows that is set on a concrete base. It does not currently have an electrical connection but is prepared for an electrical installation. The other pleasant characteristic of the finca is the house is located well within the boundary of the farm at 150 meters from one of two access points or gates. In other words it enjoys a privacy and tranquility while maintaining excellent access. The other thing to consider is that the finca is super productive, with 5.5 hectares of mature, high yield olive trees planted in commercially viable linear patterns so this in turn, represents an optional revenue stream. It all means that if you are looking for a finca in the privileged area of the Ebro delta, protected by UNESCO, then this is a finca that might be well worth visiting.
